Shannon’s Note

Hi!
Our black-eyed Susans, cup plants, shrubby St. John’s wort, purple coneflowers, and blue lobelia are all in full bloom. I’m having so much fun watching all the hummingbirds, butterflies, bees and other critters visit them.

The hummingbirds have really been active lately. I’m pretty sure we’ve got at least one nest near the house. Even without feeders up, we see hummingbirds out the windows almost every day. Of course, this is the time of year when they tend to visit native flowers more often than feeders.

Oh! And this weekend, I saw a monarch flying around and landing on the swamp milkweed seedlings in the nursery. It was a female and laying eggs! Even in the nursery, our plants are part of the ecosystem.

I hope you’re having a great summer and getting to enjoy lots of pollinators and wildlife.

Have a great day!
Shannon

Nursery Update

After a slow start this spring, the plants in the nursery have absolutely taken off! Some of the plants, have gotten absolutely huge! Just looking at them, I’d never guess that they were this year’s seedlings.

We’re planning pre-order deliveries for August 1 (Glasgow) and 2 (Bowling Green). See below for details. After that, the next pre-order delivery will be in early September.
